How these numbers are produced
Two kinds of figure appear on this site and they are not equally solid. Prices are copied from what providers publish. Performance is currently estimated. Each one is labelled wherever it appears.
PublishedWhere prices come from
Each price is taken from the provider's own pricing page and linked from that provider's page here. Volume discounts are applied only where the provider states the tier publicly. Negotiated enterprise rates are not modelled, so large commitments will come in below what this table shows.
EstimatedWhere success rates come from
The benchmark harness is not live yet. The success rate and latency columns are our estimates based on vendor documentation and hands-on use, not on a controlled run. They are labelled as estimates in the table and they should not be treated as test results.
DivideHow effective cost is calculated
Per-request plans bill only successful responses, so the list price is already the real price. Bandwidth plans bill every byte including block pages, so the real price is the list price divided by the success rate. That single asymmetry drives most of the ordering in the table.
Corrections
If a price here is out of date or a figure misrepresents your product, tell us and it gets changed. Every entry carries the date it was last checked.
